Welcome to RideforReading.org!
Our Mission
Ride for Reading’s purpose is to distribute books to children who are not fortunate enough to own their own. In low-income neighborhoods, the ratio of books per child is 1 age-appropriate book for every 300 children.* Reading is an intricate part of education, and without books it is hard to build a strong academic base. Our children need materials to read at home and it is our goal to provide the means.

Our Goal
We are currently making great progress with all of the technicalities of starting a nonprofit. It is our goal to have filed our federal tax exemption form by mid-summer. Once this occurs, more marketing opportunities will become available and all donations made to us from the official starting date will be tax deductible. This would benefit both the organization and the supporters.
Our Ride
We are presently planning and working towards our inaugural Ride for Reading mountain bike ride. We are excited about representing the mountain bike community in our quest. It is our goal to have the ride by the end of summer or early fall. If you are willing to assist with the ride feel free to contact us. We hope to see you all there!
Amazing Support!
Children's book author and Olympic cyclist Erin Mirabella says, "I wanted to write children's books so I could share my Olympic experiences and lessons with kids. I want to share these with all kids, not just the ones who are lucky enough to have books at home and parents who read to them. Ride for Reading makes that possible. What better gift, than the gift of reading; through books you can give kids the whole world.
