#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on Dec 1, 2020.
This #GivingTuesday, give the GIFT that keeps on giving.
Our MISSION is:
“To help children in low-income areas become healthy and literate.”
2020 continues to be a challenging year for us all but, like many of us, we keep pushing through. This year hasn’t stopped us, we’ve found solutions to continue our mission and even think about expansion in the years ahead.
Our GOAL is to raise $5,000 this #GivingTuesday! We have had some very generous donors pledge $2,500 in matching funds. That means, we just need to raise $2,500 and your donation will be doubled. CAN YOU HELP US GET THERE?
Donations can be made online at: www.rideforreading.org/donate, by clicking the button below or by check (mail to: Ride for Reading, 1515 Elm Hill Pike Suite 107, Nashville, TN 37211). Every dollar donated for #GivingTuesday will directly support the Ride for Reading program.

Ride for Reading’s mission is to promote literacy and healthy-living to children in low-income communities. Since 2008, we have mobilized over 20,000 volunteers to deliver over 500,000 books to over 300 schools in over 50 cities across the U.S. Founded here locally in Nashville, we host 8-9 book deliveries during the school year, to Title 1 schools. Additionally, we partner with Community Centers and Summer School programs and other Literacy Partners during the summer and winter months to deliver books. Ride for Reading believes that education is not only found within the four walls of a school building, but within the pages of a book you can go anywhere, see anything, and experience everything. Every child deserves that despite economic status.

Volunteers are the core of our mission and we couldn’t do what we do without the help of the community! We are in the need of volunteers on an ongoing basis to join us on our book deliveries/distributions to deliver 700-1,000+ books to children, repair bikes and read to children! The book delivery consists of volunteers gathering at the School or a Meet-up location to load up books in backpacks, trailers, etc. and riding bikes together as a group (parade-style) to the School or Community Center. We will share with the children/families the importance of literacy with resources to help encourage more reading as a family and healthy-living through activities like cycling, walking, etc.
We are excited to share the love of reading & healthy-initiatives with these children. We promise, you will never forget the experience of children/families excited to see people from their community handing them books and teaching them more about staying active.
Thank you all for volunteering your time with Ride for Reading!
